Kick off the Holidays in Downtown Delray with our 100-foot Christmas Tree Lighting & Yuletide Fest!
The 100 Foot Christmas Tree Lighting is a Delray Beach tradition dating back to 1993, celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year, and since then it has become one of the largest and most celebrated holiday events in Palm Beach County. The tree was named by Travel and Leisure Magazine as the “Best Tree in the State of Florida,” sharing the honor of being named the best of its state with the likes of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and the White House Christmas Tree.
Join the City of Delray Beach as it welcomes the holidays with one of the best biggest events of the year - the lighting of our 100-foot Christmas Tree at 7pm! The Yuletide Street Festival kicks off at 6pm and includes children’s activities and games, delicious food, live musical performances, a silent disco, Victorian carolers, crafts, and many more holiday surprises, including Santa!
You’ll have plenty of dining options to choose from. Make a reservation at one of dozens of restaurants in Downtown Delray or choose from a variety of food trucks parked on Swinton Ave. just north of Atlantic Avenue. Enjoy more than 60 vendors up and down Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove, 3 entertainment stages and more!

HISTORY: Did you know that the 100ft Christmas tree started as a 50ft Christmas tree, which was purchased by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority in 1993 from a park in Miami? The DDA purchased the additional 50 ft in 1995 to make it the tallest tree and commemorate the city’s centennial celebration.
The current 100-ft Christmas tree was purchased in 2017 by the City of Delray Beach, replacing the original, and moved from the front of the Cornell Museum along Atlantic Avenue to where it sits today. The tree includes:
18,000 ornaments
31 miles of garland
15,000 pounds of branches
13 miles of lights
