New Exhibitions Opening: Art Immersive, Delray Walls Artist Showcase, Juan Abuela

Join us at the Cornell Art Museum on Friday, July 28th from 5pm - 8pm as we open three new exhibitions inside the museum. Enjoy live music and a signature cocktail as you stroll through the museum and experience the new exhibitions:

ART IMMERSIVE

Upper Level Galleries will showcase immersive art with a state-of-the-art, visual and sound projection room, Burning Man 2022 interactive art installation by Claudia LaBianca and a group exhibition from Miami Art Society until January 21, 2024.

DELRAY WALLS ARTIST SHOWCASE

Lower Level NE and SE Galleries will feature art from 12 Delray Walls mural fest Wild Style Abstract artists, including a student mural created by Space of Mind Students with artist “Arive” mentorship through November 26, 2023.

SPOTLIGHT GALLERY: JUAN ABUELA

Cuban-born artist Juan Abuela’s “Pressure” series - wood and neon-painted concrete sculptures depicting our response and reaction to “pressure” on display through November 26, 2023.

After seeing the space at the Cornell Art Museum, Artist Juan Abuela was inspired to create this special, massive sculpture titled “Balance” that hangs from the third floor ceiling all the way to the foyer on the first floor of the museum.

Abuela felt a connection immediately to the space and saw this piece in his head while he walked around the museum. The piece starts very linear, conservative, dark at the top and evolves into an organic, free-flowing, brightly-colored shape at the bottom. It is balanced. Hence, the name of the piece: “Balance”.

Come see “Balance” and the other impressive art and immersive experiences at the Cornell Art Museum. The museum is always FREE and open to the public from Wednesday- Sunday.
