DBHS Book Signing & Lecture

  • The Vintage Gym at Old School Square 51 North Swinton Avenue Delray Beach, FL, 33444 United States (map)

Old School Square is pleased to welcome the Delray Beach Historical Society for a special evening featuring esteemed author and prize-winning journalist Michael Grunwald, presented in the Vintage Gym at Old School Square.

Mr. Grunwald will discuss his acclaimed book, The Swamp: The Everglades, Florida, and the Politics of Paradise, widely regarded as one of the most important works ever written on the Everglades. Through powerful storytelling and investigative reporting, the book explores the destruction, preservation, and possible restoration of America’s most iconic wetland, revealing how human ambition reshaped the Everglades and how modern efforts aim to repair the damage.

The evening will include a cocktail reception, an author lecture, and a meet-and-greet with book signing. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage with partner organizations, including the Institute for Regional Conservation, Sandoway Discovery Center, Surfrider Foundation, Surfing Florida Museum, and the Swinton Community Growing Project, all of whom will be present to share their missions.

This event offers a compelling opportunity to experience an important environmental story while gathering in one of Old School Square’s most historic spaces.
