Discover the Power and Voice of Women in Art
The Art of Her is a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring approximately 40 artworks that celebrate the strength, creativity, complexity, and individuality of women through the lens of art. The exhibition explores how women define themselves and are defined by culture, history, and identity, reclaiming narratives and challenging the boundaries between the personal and the political, as well as the intimate and the universal. At its core, The Art of Her asks: Who is “she,” and how does she express herself in the world?
Through a variety of mediums, the exhibition will showcase a juried collection of approximately 45 works by diverse women artists from the Painted Ladies of Palm Beach County. Their work embodies resilience, emotion, life experiences, and transformation. The Painted Ladies of Palm Beach County is a group of professional and emerging women artists who gather monthly to support members’ artistic growth through museum and gallery tours, professional engagement with arts organizations, instructional and educational workshops, and art-focused travel.
The objective of The Art of Her is to amplify the visibility of women artists across generations and disciplines, inspire conversation about womanhood, identity, and empowerment in today’s world, and engage the community with relevant contemporary artwork created by women.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, featuring live music, refreshments, and the opportunity to meet and greet the artists. The exhibition will run from January 23, 2026, through May 3, 2026, and will be installed in the upper galleries of the Cornell Art Museum. The exhibition will also be celebrated during Women’s History Month in March, a month dedicated by Congress to honoring the past and present contributions of women to American history, society, and the arts.
The Art of Her is curated by Marusca Gatto, Cultural Arts Director of the Cornell Art Museum, and will be judged by Grace Gdaniec, Program Director at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, Florida. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place, as well as an honorable mention. In addition, special events, art talks, and demonstrations will be held at the Cornell Art Museum throughout the exhibition.
