Your choice helps define how Old School Square is seen, felt, and remembered by the world.

  • Jen Fisher

    Artist bio:

Jen Fisher is a mixed media artist with an interior design background currently residing in Boca Raton, Florida. During her years as a designer in New York City, she worked on various commercial design projects for prominent architectural firms before eventually transitioning to the academic world as an advisor at the New York School of Interior Design. Jen’s desire to create small soon took her artistic career down a new path: jewelry design and teaching art. She created her own architecturally inspired jewelry line and began painting while teaching and experimenting with new materials. Influenced from her interior design background, her paintings allow her to express her creative thoughts using alternate mediums. Jen currently enjoys working on private commissions, urban sketching, exhibiting her work and teaching perspective drawing and city sketching.

    Watercolor inspiration:

My goal was to capture the essence of Delray Beach's vibrant heart through a tropical and colorful vignette of the iconic Crest Theater. To me, the Crest Theater, a landmarked beacon of Delray's history and cultural identity, stands as the hub of the Old School Square Campus. The artwork’s purpose is to invite both locals and visitors to connect with the artistic spirit of the theater and also celebrate Old School Square’s unique cultural arts campus nestled in its lush South Florida landscape.

  • Kristin Pavlick

    Artist bio:

Delray Beach-based artist Kristin Pavlick poses important questions about consumerist societies: how much does visual culture influence our decisions? Referencing pop art and 21st century icons, the works render contemporary images through traditional techniques. Her pieces are held in numerous private and public collections, including the Coral Springs Museum of Art.

    Watercolor inspiration:

I was initially inspired by this project's intersection of historical and contemporary art practices. I immediately adopted the vintage color palette because of its dark, dull blue. I saw it as the equivalent of Payne's Gray and decided that this historically significant pigment was to be the cornerstone of my watercolor illustration of Old School Square. It would honor (the 'old', if you will) through medium and technique. Secondly, the 'square' was used the entire way through my process; it represented considerations of being in a box, outside of the box, what it means to be able to leave your mark on the box of an institution as a female artist, etc.

  • Patricia Torras

    Artist bio:

Being a South Florida native and a Delray Beach resident, my love for arts and culture is homegrown. I naturally bring a bold, bright, and brave approach to marketing design, with a desire to convey life and color into abstract concepts. However, I truly thrive in hands-on art creation, allowing me to connect with the materials and process directly. I draw inspiration from my everyday living, whether it’s the typography on a local sign, the architectural detail of historic buildings, the natural patterns I observe during my beach walks, or the vibrant energy of weekend events on the Ave.

    Watercolor inspiration:

Old School Square, a landmark visible to all driving down Atlantic Ave, has been a part of my life for nearly 25 years. Delray Beach's blend of history, architecture, vibrant events, and community spirit, coupled with the A Legacy Through Art initiative, inspired me to capture the soul of Old School Square through the expressive medium of watercolor. My logo design features a distinct square, where each quadrant symbolizes one of Old School Square's four venues: Cornell Art Museum, Crest Theatre/Creative Arts School, the Amphitheatre, and the Vintage Gym, rendered in a vibrant palette that reflects OSS’s dynamic energy.
