About Ron Garrett:
Artist, educator and printmaker Ron Garrett has exhibited in numerous solo, two-person and group shows throughout his 40-plus-year career. He holds an MFA in Printmaking from Kent State University, a BFA from Guilford College and studied studio fundamentals at Ringling College of Art and Design.
Garrett began his career as an illustrator, designer and freelance artist while continuing to create prints in his home studio. For more than two decades, he taught art at leading schools and universities throughout South Florida. Today, he presents lectures, workshops and demonstrations at museums, schools, art centers and his Boca Raton studio.
As the founder of RagaPress, a boutique fine-art printmaking atelier, Garrett shares his diverse body of work through traveling exhibitions designed to educate and engage communities.
Now on view at the Cornell Art Museum, Impressions & Expressions explores Garrett’s evolution as an American printmaker over four decades of living and working in North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Florida—with influences drawn from his travels throughout India and Europe. Come experience this remarkable retrospective in person.
Master Printmaker Ron Garrett brings his tapestry of bold, colorful printmaking to the Cornell Art Museum, showcasing traditional techniques including intaglio and relief alongside contemporary multimedia styles.
As you ascend the north staircase, you’ll be greeted by Garrett’s large-scale, bold works.
In the Upper East Galleries, explore works spanning the 1980s–1990s and 2000s–2010s. The retrospective culminates in the Upper West Gallery, showcasing new works, print projects and traveling exhibitions that reflect Garrett’s multifaceted practice as an artist, painter, illustrator, upcycled/mixed-media sculptor and printmaker. Created across multiple states over several decades, this retrospective offers both an artistic and educational experience for all.
Be among the first to experience a selection of Ron’s prolific original works from the ’80s and ’90s in a new traveling exhibition never before seen in Florida.
